mallory's biography

Mallory Ervin grew up on a farm with 23 of her first cousins in Morganfield Kentucky and always dreamed of something big. As a little girl she can remember sitting on the back of a 4 wheeler with frizzy brown curly hair and huge glasses, dreaming of how she could make a difference, of what her path would be, and she began her journey singing at a young age…

Mallory pursued her musical talents and focused on her academics.  She graduated Valedictorian of her high school in 2004, then attended Sewanee: The University of the South and graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts.

The Miss America organization entered Mallory’s life in 2007 and after 3 years of competing, Mallory was crowned Miss Kentucky 2009 and taking home double preliminary awards in talent and swimsuit.  She also received the Quality of Life Award for her work with Autism Awareness: an organization that is very close to her heart as Mallory has 3 first cousins on the Autism spectrum.

Mallory spent her year of service as Miss Kentucky 2009 as a statewide spokesperson traveling across the state of Kentucky full-time. During her reign, Mallory made over 600 appearances, speaking, singing and setting the ultimate example of being who you are. From winning the Miss Kentucky title, Mallory continued on to Las Vegas to compete in the Miss America pageant 2010 where she was awarded 4th Runner-Up and America’s Choice.

Mallory traded in her crown for a back pack and set out on an adventure around the world on Season 17 of The Amazing Race, a reality based competition series on CBS where 11 teams of 2 race around the world doing various challenges in hopes of winning a million dollar prize!  She and her father finished in 6th place that season and Mallory returned home excited to share her experiences while finishing her reign as Miss Kentucky. Well, TV wasn’t done with Mallory as she received a phone call alerting her that she and her father were selected as fan favorites to return for Season 18’s The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business. This time, they made it all the way around the world and placed 3rd in the final leg of this all-star season. To this day, it will always be one of her greatest accomplishments and so special because she was able to share it with her best friend, her dad.

Mallory is currently residing in Nashville, TN.  She has spent much of this year filming abroad and in the US for some new exciting ventures.  She continues traveling as a motivational speaker, television personality and singer making appearances all over the country telling her story of small town success and making her dreams come true.  As Mallory continues on this exciting journey she hopes to leave a legacy as someone who stood for something, who cared more about others than she did about herself, and someone who continues to use her gifts and talents to bring joy to everyone around her…all while she works toward her next big adventure!  Mallory’s mission is to help everyone find joy and value in their life and to shine a light on all the good in the world while she’s at it!  Stay tuned friends and begin your own journey today!
