You know when you take a bite of something healthy and you’re like NOOOOOO WAYYYYYYY. No way this is good for me because it tastes too good. Well I’ve got a treat for you. This recipe is inspired by my sweet friend Alex White who has an incredible Nashville Company called Milk and Honey Food Co.
Here is the official recipe…
ENERGY BITES
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon black chia seeds
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup raw honey
3/4 almond butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (I use Premier Protein’s Vanilla)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup sliced almonds
First you blend all the dry ingredients in a food processor(or blender). I typically pulse it a few times.
Then I add in the wet ingredients. All but the chocolate chips. Instead of chocolate chips you could always add in your favorite dried fruit or coconut flakes or anything you’d like. Big Mama likes dat chocolate…
Once you fold in the chocolate chips you start forming the bites. I prefer rolling them into balls but you could also do bars or whatever shape your little heart desires!
Then stick those little babies in the fridge for at least 2 hours!! They’re good to stay in your fridge for a quick breakfast or snack for several days…but mine don’t usually last more than 3. Hope you love them!! Leave a comment below and share this with your friends!!
