fall touches to your home! Now, I know you might be thinking, “I barely have enough time to keep my house clean, let alone decorate it!” And trust me, I get it. But I have a few simple ways to subtly add some autumnal charm to your home without take up too much time or space.
Fall Themed bookshelf
If you’ve been with us for a while you know I love to redecorate my kid’s bookshelf over the holidays. I’ve noticed that the festive titles and décor really help get the boys excited about reading. It order carisoprodol really doesn’t take long and most of the décor you can find at your local Target!
We’ve accumulated a collection of Halloween children’s books over the years, but a few of our favorites are Curious George Halloween Boo Fest and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
As for the decoration itself, we just hung a mix of autumn like garland and ghost garland throughout the shelves. We strung them at a bit of an angle instead of evenly for a more mischievous look, perfect for Halloween! For the little skeletons and bats throughout we sort of improvised and tried to fill in the empty spaces. We didn’t want to go overboard and make it tacky, but we still wanted to give a nod to spooky season.
I think decorating the bookshelf is such a fun and festive activity that you can do together as a family. You can really make it your own and curate it to your own holiday aesthetic!
Autumnal FLoral Arrangement
Who said flowers are just for spring? I love the stunning colors that can be displayed and bring out a new sense of fall. It doesn’t just have to be dead leaves, many plants actually thrive in this weather.
In order to keep the flowers looking fresh longer, I make sure I take all of the leaves off the stems before putting them in a vase. Not only will this keep them alive longer, but it gives a cleaner more chic look, especially if you choose to display them in a transparent vase.
For my first arrangement I chose dahlias. They really do an amazing job of bringing in those vibrant fall colors and can easily spice up any kitchen or living room. Don’t get too set on making them sit perfectly, they are a wildflower after all!
For the second arrangement, chocolate cosmos take center stage. I love the fall vibes this flower gives and how dainty they look. I put them in a long flute vase to add to their elegance. Their deeper colors pair beautifully with the orange and golden colors of other autumn décor. While they might not be as big and flashy as the dahlias, they shine in their own special way.
I hope you like these easy fall décor tips! But the most important thing to remember in any DIY is to make it your own! Be sure to reach out if you did decide to try any of these, and let me know your favorite way to get your home ready for the season.
