Dollars that is. Ok, so much is happening with the launch of my youtube channel! Plus I’ve got travel and bridal and collaborations galore coming up in this month. If you haven’t subscribed yet, check out my videos HERE! So now let’s get back to that $22 thing. So y’all have inspired me to search for bargains and I feel like I’m getting pretty good at it. This dress in this post is $22. Like for real? Now I can spend my life’s savings on shoes and jewels…just kidding. Mostly.
And believe me…this is the only cold shoulder I’ll be giving anyone this fall! I LOVE off the shoulder. And these bell sleeves! And the fact that I could be in a hot dog eating contest wearing this style and no one would ever know because it’s so forgiving! Check check check! So I searched and found my 5 faves in this style, and linked them below for you.
And look at these leaves at my feet!! I mean…who wants to throw a welcome party for the fall with me? I live for this season.
And you know I’m all about those details. Back to my version of basics with the nails and lashes at a 10. I love getting thick glitter shellac on my nails. I swear it stays for a month and a half. And I get it on my toes too! And if you get in really good with your nail peeps they may even fill in the shellac so you can go a little longer. You can only do it with colors like this though because you can see the line with plain colors.
Ok, so here are my favorites I’ve found of this trend…as well as my shoes and necklace.
And check out my youtube videos and let me know what you’d like to see. Thank y’all for reading!
Transitioning is tough. We long for what’s ahead, but want to cling to the past. I for one, battle perfectionism and feeling like something won’t be quite what I thought…or what others thought. But don’t nobody want to see perfect. That’s why I constantly try to be who I am…before I’m all shined up. Like I’ve said before, I can make myself look reeaaalllll good with the help of Kelsey Cherry, some masterful makeup moves and editing…but I look reeaaallll ‘not so good’ before all those magic moves. So to prove that to you I started sharing some before and afters of my own makeup, and I had such an overwhelming response I thought, why not go LIVE with it. Videos!! That’s where I kind of got my start anyways, so why not?! Then of course I thought…wait…I don’t have the right set up, or lighting, or microphone…then I chose to practice what I preach. So here goes. Please subscribe to my youtube channel HERE! I filmed my first video with my friend Alexandrea Garzayesterday and it’s almost ready! Many many more to come. I also started a Pinterest…follow that HERE.
So before I transition into fall fashion, here are two books that changed my life and really helped me overcome my perfectionism and taught me about living wholeheartedly. I recommend them a thousand times over. They are Daring Greatlyand The Gifts of Imperfectionby Brene Brown.
Being comfortable in your own skin is number one, being comfortable in a big sweater comes in somewhere behind that. Here are some of my favorites for fall including one like to mine here…
And you know what’s great about these transition pieces? You can wear them year after year. So yay for transitioning into seasons and new ventures and leaving our self doubt behind to do what we love. Thanks for reading guys and look for the video up very very soon…like hours soon.
It’s the only fever I don’t try to reduce. I LOVE flannel shirts! I wear them more than any item in my closet. I have to keep myself from posting so much about them, but it’s the season, so…Woo! I hope you’ll catch the fever too. So I’ve told you guys before that Rails is my main jam. I wear them at least 4 days a week. I can’t believe I just told you that. I get my friends all hooked too. They’re the best. I have 20. Embarrassing. But you will NEVER find a better shirt.
My mind spins out of control for these shirts. And I know they’re a little pricey, but they are worth it. My sister has one from a couple years ago that I see her wearing at least once a week…sorry Jade. You’ll wear them FOREVER. They’re so soft and luxurious and just ahhhhh!
Comfort City, USA. Here’s another one just because I can’t get enough and I wanted to show you how to wear winter white after Labor Day. This Mother Denim pair that I’m wearing are great, but these Mother Denim ones are the ripped version. I like them better, and they’re on sale.
And these cool kicks are one of the only flat shoes I’ll wear…haha. Check out Nisolo. Another incredible company that believes that there should be transparency with the things we put on our body in the same way we want transparency in what we put in it. So cool. They are also all about treating their producers and customers with dignity and believe their impact on the world is more than just clothing. They operate a “hand-up model that empowers makers in emerging economies by connecting them to the global marketplace in a responsible manner.” Something I’m proud to wear.
So whoa…I know that was a lot. But my love for flannels runs deep. I like to pair them with everything, and what I’m loving for fall is pairing them with a suede skirt. I’ll link some below. I would have shot that look too but my spray tan was whack. Here are my favorite flannels(if you’re in Nashville grab them at H Audrey), my jeans from this shoot and the suede skirts I die over. Happy happy weekend friends!! And just wait until you see my makeup tutorials…ahhh…coming oh so soon!
The only blending in I try to practice involves camouflage and army green. I love it so much I guarantee I’ve bought at least one camouflage and one army green piece every year for the past ten years. And I still wear them. You can find these trends on a red carpet or in a sorority house. It’s SO versatile. So, here’s to wearing that army green but not blending in! I’m wearing my current favorite piece in these shots and then listed below are links to my camo/army must haves…and just wait until you see my new camo sneakers!! They deserve their own post though…
And it’s the most comfortable…and remember, I’m really into minimal makeup for fall. This look too me 12 minutes. And exciting news, I’m finally filming my first youtube video tomorrow!! So I’ll show you step by step how to achieve the looks I wear. I am SOOOO excited.
Very simple but so fresh and so clean clean.
And here are my current favorite pieces in my closet now! As you can see, I’m into more casual basic looks currently. I paid my dues in fancy clothes for a while. Actually, for a couple weeks probably.
Who doesn’t look twice at a graphic tee? One with a cool saying that describes your soul…you stare. So I’ve been pretty into tees with sayings or cool graphics(like a pizza slice not Ed Hardy). And I’ve compiled some of my favorites and as you’ve requested so many SALES!! Also, my favorite merlot jeans for the fall make an appearance here and I’ve found them and my Rag and Bone booties for you for crazy prices!
If your tee doesn’t make enough of a statement you can always stack on some jewels. For this look I’ve mixed my David Yurman with a Brooke Worthington bangle and a leather bracelet an Amish man crafted for me a couple years ago. And speaking of leather work, my bag is Old Clutch. The coolest ever, and true to my country girl roots. They sell them at H Audreyand Whites Mercantile in Nashville.
See…so much cooler with words on it. So I’ve scoured the internet for you and found my favorite sayings and graphics on my favorite shirts and linked them below. Plus, I found you some major deals, incase you change your statement style often.
I also found the Rag and Bone booties I’m wearing here in brown for 50% off!! Very rare.
And lastly, my favorite shade of jeans for the fall, Merlot. Two options here like mine for a GREAT price.
I started life as a tomboy. And oftentimes I return to my roots with my love of tomboy styles. No doubt I like a ruffle and a solid sequin to my core, but I also love simple basics. And girls, do you ever notice how men love basics too? They say women dress for women not men, but this is a look that I feel will make a man take a second look. Even though it’s the simplest.
Also, these jeans feel like Spanx. They suck everything in for me so I like them when wearing this long sleeved shirt tucked in. So for a more fitted jean I go with my Mother Denim…and for a more relaxed pajama jean feel I grab my Goldsign Jeans.
Now lets talk ball caps. Here is my current favorite,Aviate Brand…and with my pilot roots, my love of Nashville and throwing on a ball cap, it’s obviously my favorite. I ordered it in every color. I have a problem with that. Whoops.
Combine it with my favorite Rag and Bone fall booties and you have a perfect relaxed look for the fall. And lastly, I’m loving less makeup for the fall. A simple two shadow eye look with a light gloss and clean face is my thing right now…oh with a million lash extensions of course…at least for a week or so.
So there you go all my comfort lovers. Fun things coming very soon!
So Fall…Y to the E to the SSSSSS!!!! I’m beside myself at the arrival of September. This is my favorite season, and my favorite fashion season as well. I love me some layers, and for the start of fall light layers is all you need. Let’s start with one of my favorite pieces. For the summer and into the winter with a layer over it, Cami NYC is my absolute favorite tank. I have every color. They’re a flirty blend of casual with a sexy feel.
I like wearing mine with anything, but here the ripped jeans give it a cool edgy look.
Now let me touch on the jewelry I’m wearing here, Miriam Designs. I love fashion with a purpose, and this is one that’s close to my heart. So if there’s anything about doing a fashion blog that I don’t love, it’s the image of perfection that seems to emerge. It looks like we may have it all together…however, it’s soooo not the case. I struggle, I’ve overcome, and I support those who have too. Thanks to a rad photographer, editing and beautiful clothes I look a certain way, but I’m definitely with ya on the days you feel not enough, in battling addictions, in falling down and rising STRONG. So in this post I want to bring it back to my soul and feature something that reaches beyond pretty clothes, makeup and jewelry. So Miriam Designs is part of the Livefashionablebrand and is a tool used to empower women both globally and locally. They started “creating jewelry and doing creative therapy with women coming out of recovery who have battled everything from addiction to depression to homelessness. Hearing from these women that it was often difficult to get jobs post-recovery, they started selling their jewelry to create jobs for the women.” Now that’s something I’m proud to wear.
And lastly, tying a Rails LA shirt around my waist for when it gets chilly is a fashion trend that I love for fall. So here’s to you strong women out there who love looking good, but know it’s really about so much more. The coolest things ever to come. Stay tuned…
